You have just done something extraordinary. You have brought a new life into the world, and in the process, you have been transformed. Right now, you are navigating the raw, beautiful, and sometimes overwhelming reality of new parenthood. There is no roadmap for this moment, and yet, here you are—showing up, loving fiercely, and doing your absolute best.

I want you to pause for a moment and take a deep breath. You are incredible.

In these first days and weeks, I want to remind you: you matter. Your body, your heart, and your spirit are in the midst of their own kind of birth—a rebirth into this new version of yourself. And you deserve to be held, supported, and deeply cared for in this process.

Postpartum is a time of profound healing, yet so often new parents are expected to figure it out alone. But you don’t have to. You deserve rest, nourishment, and the kind of support that helps you feel whole. That’s why postpartum home visits exist—so you can receive the care your body and spirit truly need.

What a Postpartum Home Visit with Me Looks Like

A postpartum home visit isn’t just about acupuncture (though that’s a powerful part of it). It’s about comprehensive, expert-level care that deeply supports you in ways most postpartum resources don’t. When I come to your home, I bring a level of clinical expertise, holistic healing, and hands-on support that merges my background as a Labor & Delivery nurse with the deep nourishment of East Asian Medicine. This is not just about getting acupuncture—it’s about having someone who sees and understands every layer of your healing process. Here’s what that looks like:

Acupuncture & Bodywork for Recovery

Acupuncture helps with postpartum healing in so many ways—it increases circulation, reduces pain, supports milk production, and helps regulate sleep and mood. I also incorporate gentle bodywork like Tui Na, which feels incredible when you’ve been holding and feeding a baby 24/7. These hands-on therapies are tailored to exactly what your body needs at this moment.

Herbal Medicine for Deep Nourishment

We didn’t talk about this at our last visit, but I also recommend herbs to support healing. In East Asian Medicine, postpartum care is all about rebuilding blood, warmth, and Qi—and herbs are a powerful tool for that.

Nutritional Support Rooted in East Asian Medicine

Eating enough (and the right foods) is one of the best things you can do for your recovery. In East Asian Medicine, postpartum meals should be warm, nourishing, and easy to digest—soups, stews, and broths. The First Forty Days is a great guide for this, and their oxtail stew is one of my favorites (you can get oxtails at the butcher counter at Berkeley Bowl!).

Postpartum Healing Goes Well Beyond Six Weeks

Postpartum healing isn’t just six weeks long. The choices you make now set the foundation for your health over the next year and beyond. In East Asian Medicine, this time is seen as crucial for either preparing your body for your next pregnancy or for menopause down the line. It might seem far away, but everything you do now—nourishing your body, resting, and receiving care—will support your long-term well-being.

Take care of yourself, even in the smallest ways. You’re doing an amazing job.

With warmth and support,

Brianna
